Abstract
This study aims to examine in depth how the role of student interns in supporting the
implementation of public markets in Mataram City, as well as explaining how the Basic
and Important Materials Division (Bapokting) at the Mataram City Trade Office carries
out its functions and duties in public market activities. This research uses a qualitative
approach with data collection techniques in the form of observation, and data analysis
refers to the Miles and Huberman model. The results showed that the people's market in
Mataram runs in a structured and effective manner through commodity price surveys,
good communication with distributors, and the implementation of the people's market as
an effort to stabilize the price of basic needs. In this context, the role of student interns is
very important as part of the process. Student interns can contribute to the collection of
price survey data, help deliver official letters to distributors, and support the
implementation of public market activities by conducting direct supervision and data
collection in the field.
