Abstract
This study aims to analyze the strategic role of managerial
supervision within Unit Pelaksana Teknis Dinas Pasar dan Bidang Barang Pokok dan Penting
of Dinas Perdagangan Kota Mataram in ensuring operational effectiveness and trade regulation
compliance. A qualitative method was employed through document study, in-depth interviews
with relevant staff, and observation of existing supervisory practices. The findings reveal that
managerial supervision plays a crucial role in ensuring orderly business licensing, accuracy of
measuring instruments through re-calibration, and effective monitoring of basic commodity
prices and distribution. This supervision also ensures the smooth operation of public markets
and the handling of trade violations. It is concluded that structured and continuous managerial
supervision in both units is vital for efficient trade governance, maintaining a healthy business
climate, and protecting community interests in Kota Mataram.
