ABSTRACT
This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the market operation (pasar murah) management program implemented by the Department of Trade of Mataram City in reducing the inflation rate. The market operation program serves as a strategic initiative by the local government to provide essential goods at affordable prices, especially during periods of inflation risk such as religious holidays. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collected through observation, interviews, and document analysis. The results indicate that the program was managed effectively through structured stages of planning, implementation, and evaluation. Commodities such as rice, cooking oil, and sugar were sold below market prices and received positive responses from the community. The program contributed to controlling price increases and lowering the monthly inflation rate in Mataram City, although its reach has not yet covered all areas evenly. Strengthening coordination, expanding coverage, and increasing the budget are recommended to further optimize the program.
