Correction and Retraction
International Journal of Tourism Business Research (INTOUR) is committed to maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the scholarly record. Authors are responsible for reporting errors they discover in their published articles. Editors may also initiate a review when an error or concern is brought to their attention by readers, reviewers, or other parties.
Corrections
A correction may be published when an error in a published article is confirmed and can be corrected without invalidating the overall findings or conclusions. The Editor-in-Chief will assess the nature and significance of the error and may consult the authors, editorial board, or relevant experts.
Corrections will be clearly identified, linked to the original article, and published in a form that allows readers to understand what was changed and why. The original article will remain part of the journal record, with a clear link to the correction. Minor typographical or formatting changes that do not affect the article’s meaning may be addressed by the editors without a separate correction notice.
Retractions
A retraction may be issued when an investigation establishes that an article contains serious problems that make its findings or conclusions unreliable, or when a significant breach of publication ethics is confirmed. Such breaches may include plagiarism, data fabrication or falsification, duplicate publication, or other serious forms of research or publication misconduct.
When a concern is raised, the Editor-in-Chief will assess the available evidence, inform the authors of the concern, and invite them to provide an explanation. The journal will make its decision based on the evidence and the outcome of the investigation. If the alleged misconduct is not substantiated, the review or investigation will be closed without retraction. If serious misconduct is substantiated before an article is published, the manuscript will be rejected in accordance with INTOUR’s publication ethics policy.
For a retracted article, INTOUR will publish a retraction notice in the next available issue. The notice will identify the article and explain the reason for retraction. To preserve the completeness of the bibliographic record, the article will remain available online with a “Retracted” watermark and a link to the retraction notice.
Responsibilities
Authors must promptly notify the editors if they discover a material error in their published article and cooperate with any inquiry concerning the article’s accuracy or integrity. Readers and other concerned parties may report suspected errors or ethical concerns to the Editor-in-Chief through the journal’s official contact details.
Editorial decisions on corrections and retractions are made to protect the accuracy and integrity of the scholarly record and are separate from the journal’s routine peer-review decisions.
