Author Guidelines

1. Aims and Scope
INTOUR: International Journal of Tourism Business Research publishes original and high-quality research articles that contribute to the advancement of knowledge in tourism, hospitality, and related business disciplines. The journal welcomes interdisciplinary studies that provide theoretical, methodological, and practical contributions to tourism development and management. Manuscripts should demonstrate clear research novelty, scientific rigor, and relevance to tourism and hospitality issues at the local, national, regional, or international levels. Articles outside the journal's scope will not be considered for review.

2. Types of Manuscripts
INTOUR accepts only original Research Articles that have not been published, accepted, or simultaneously submitted to another journal. The manuscript must report original empirical findings or theoretical developments that provide significant contributions to tourism and hospitality research. Literature reviews, book reviews, opinion papers, and conference reports are not considered unless specifically invited by the Editorial Board.

3. General Submission Requirements
A. Manuscripts must be written in English using clear academic language.
B. The manuscript must be original and free from plagiarism.
C. Similarity Index must comply with the journal plagiarism policy.
D. Manuscripts must follow the official INTOUR template.
E. The article should normally contain 6,000–8,500 words, including references.
F. Authors should register using their institutional affiliation and provide an ORCID iD whenever available.
G. Simultaneous submission to another journal is strictly prohibited.

4. Manuscript Structure
Title
The title should be concise, informative, and accurately reflect the main contribution of the study. Avoid abbreviations and unnecessary phrases. The recommended length is no more than 20 words.

Abstract
The abstract should be written in a single paragraph consisting of 200–250 words and briefly describe the background, research purpose, methodology, principal findings, practical implications, and originality/contribution of the study. References, citations, tables, and figures should not be included.

Keywords
Provide 3–5 keywords arranged alphabetically and separated by semicolons. Keywords should not duplicate words already appearing in the title.

Introduction
The introduction should clearly present the research background, supported by recent empirical evidence and relevant literature, followed by a critical review of previous studies to establish the theoretical foundation. Authors must explicitly identify the research gap(s) (theoretical, empirical, methodological, or contextual), formulate the research objectives, and conclude with the expected theoretical and practical contributions of the study. References should primarily consist of recent peer-reviewed publications published within the last ten years.

Research Method
The methodology should clearly explain the research design, study location, population and sampling procedures, research variables or constructs, instruments, data collection procedures, data analysis techniques, and ethical considerations (if applicable). The methodology should be described in sufficient detail to allow replication.

Results and Discussion
Results should present the research findings objectively using appropriate tables and figures where necessary. The discussion should interpret the findings critically by relating them to previous studies, relevant theories, and research objectives. Authors are expected to explain the scientific significance of the findings rather than merely repeating the results.

Conclusion
The conclusion should summarize the major findings, highlight the theoretical and practical implications, acknowledge research limitations, and provide recommendations for future research. No new references or discussions should be introduced.

Acknowledgements
This section is optional and may include funding information, institutional support, or individuals who contributed substantially to the research but do not qualify as authors.

References
References must follow APA Style (7th Edition). At least 80% of the references should come from peer-reviewed journal articles, with the majority published within the last 10 years. Authors are encouraged to include references indexed in Scopus or Web of Science whenever relevant. All references cited in the text must appear in the reference list and vice versa. DOI numbers should be included whenever available.

5. Tables, Figures, and Equations
Tables and figures must be numbered consecutively, accompanied by clear titles and cited within the text. Images should have a minimum resolution of 300 dpi. Mathematical equations should be editable (not images) and numbered sequentially.

6. Ethical Requirements
Research involving human participants must comply with applicable ethical standards. Authors should state ethical approval (if required), informed consent procedures, funding sources, conflicts of interest, and author contributions where appropriate. All submissions must comply with the journal's Publication Ethics policy.

7. Data Availability Statement
Authors are encouraged to provide a Data Availability Statement indicating whether the research data are publicly available, available upon reasonable request, or subject to ethical or legal restrictions.

8. Plagiarism Policy
All submitted manuscripts will be screened using plagiarism detection software before entering the peer-review process. Manuscripts with unacceptable similarity levels or evidence of plagiarism, duplicate publication, or unethical research practices will be rejected immediately.

9. Peer Review Process
All manuscripts undergo an initial editorial screening followed by a double-blind peer review conducted by at least two independent reviewers. Editorial decisions are based on originality, scientific quality, methodological rigor, relevance to the journal's scope, and reviewers' recommendations.

10. Reasons for Desk Rejection
A manuscript may be rejected without external review if it:
A. Falls outside the journal scope;
B. Lacks research novelty or scientific contribution;
C. Demonstrates weak theoretical or methodological foundations;
D. Does not follow the journal template;
E. Contains poor academic English;
F. Has an unacceptable similarity index;
G. Provides insufficient discussion or interpretation of findings;
E. Violates publication ethics.

11. Article Processing Charge (APC)
The APC policy follows the official journal policy published on the journal website. Payment is requested only after the manuscript has been accepted for publication.

12. Submission Checklist
Before submitting, authors should ensure that:

  • The manuscript is original and has not been submitted elsewhere.
  • The manuscript follows the official INTOUR template.
  • The title, abstract, and keywords comply with the journal requirements.
  • The introduction clearly presents the background, research gap, objectives, and contributions.
  • The methodology is described comprehensively.
  • Results and discussion are integrated and supported by recent literature.
  • References follow APA 7th Edition.
  • Tables and figures are properly formatted.
  • Similarity complies with the journal policy.
  • Metadata in OJS (title, abstract, keywords, affiliations, ORCID, and references) have been completed accurately.
