Analisis Konsep Flow pada Mahasiswa yang Mengikuti Organisasi UKM di Universitas Malikussaleh
Abstract
This study aims to analyze the concept of flow or optimal experience in students who actively participate in the Student Activity Unit (UKM) at Malikussaleh University. Flow is a psychological condition when individuals feel fully immersed and enjoy the activities carried out, characterized by high focus, intrinsic motivation, and a sense of satisfaction from within. This study used a descriptive quantitative approach with purposive sampling technique on 87 student members of UKM. The research instrument is a flow scale modified from the Bakker (2005) model, which includes three main aspects: absorption, enjoyment, and intrinsic motivation. The results showed that most students were in the low flow category (43.7%), followed by the fluctuating category (39.1%), and only a small proportion reached high flow (17.2%). Based on gender, male students had a slightly greater proportion of high flow than females, but both were dominated by the low category. Variations were also found based on the type of SME, where SMEs such as Volleyball and Scout showed a tendency of high flow, while SMEs such as SSR and SAR were dominated by low flow. These findings indicate that the experience of flow is not evenly distributed among student organizations, and is still influenced by personal factors and the activity environment. The results of this study are an important basis for the development of organizational strategies that can encourage participation. Translated with DeepL.com (free version)
